field note! the essential oils in this recipe trace back to the very first batch of soap i ever made, in my kitchen in 2009, under the name terra verde. that first iteration became a lasting favorite, and always reminds me of how the apothecary began.

lather between hands or directly on skin. for best results, always allow soap block dry between uses, and never leave sitting in water.

apothecary verde soaps are crafted through the cold-process method, a practice that honors tradition, ritual, and slow living. this process blends sodium hydroxide and pure water with a base of nourishing oils and butters, initiating the chemistry of soap making. each apothecary verde soap batch is hand-poured using only natural plant oils, clays, and botanicals, then left to rest and cure for 4–8 weeks. the result is a dense, long-lasting, hand-cut bar that lathers richly without stripping moisture. a cleveland local favorite since 2009!
