registration includes all materials, equipment and safety gear. education, instruction and a one sheet on cold process soap-making are also included. session is led by apothecary verde founder melissa klimo-major, who has been formulating cold-process soaps for over 15 years. melissa is a member of the handcrafted soap & cosmetics guild and an aromatherapist certified L1 through the NAHA.
community soap making students can choose from our standard menu of ingredients, selecting up to two essential oils and one color or texture to add to their batch.
soaps will then remain in the apothecary’s soap lab for a minimum of four weeks to cure before final pickup. each one pound batch will be cut into four bars, and presented with four recyclable, customizable belly band labels. each student will also receive one bar of fully cured studio soap to take home the day of the event.
